Grave animation

This is my first original animation in After Effects. It's of a grave bell/safety coffin. There was a huge fear of being buried alive in the 18th and 19th Century, so the safety coffin was developed. A bell was attached to the gravestone with a cord going down into the coffin so, in theory, someone could alert the people above. Also, there is a theory that is where the term "saved by the bell" came from.

 

I drew the illustration in procreate and then animated it in Adobe After Effects.
