NZ Native birds

My New Zealand Native Bird Series includes Fantail, Wax Eye and a Tomtit. I created the Tomtit and Wax illustrations to feature some of our less celebrated native New Zealand native birds.
The originals were painted in ink and coloured digitally. The backgrounds of these prints take inspiration from New Zealand native bush and other whimsical elements such as a small campfire in the tomtit print. They are coloured with complementary colours so they look good as a single piece or in a group.
For the photo shoot, I placed plants from my garden around the prints because I lived at the edge of the bush which is the natural habitat of these birds and was one of the main inspirations for this series.
They are printed on archival paper using the giclee method.
